Smart Jane takes the basic functionality a notch higher by bringing you tool for salary calculation based on monthly calculations (for now in later version weekly and biweekly will be introduced). The salary calculation is basic but what makes it interesting is it can calculate the salary based on a pre-set monthly salary and you can enter the number of absences. You might think you can just do this with the basic calculator. What your calculator doesnt do is maintain history of the salaries calculated and then paid. So if you wanted to know your baby sitters paid salary for the month of June and July you could go to history to check it out.

What more not only can you calculate salary, there is an option where you can mark it paid/unpaid and the mode by which you made the payment. Another common occurrence in service providers is taking advances. To manage the advances paid you can deduct a certain amount from the current month salary when making the payment or if the payment is made outside of the salary you can maintain it in the advances tab.

The two functions of salary calculations and make payment are kept separate so the user has the option of adjusting the payments based on the advances taken.
With salary calculation the user is doing a basic salary calculation based on the number of absences whereas Make Payment also considers the advances taken by the staff to calculate the net salary to be paid. The feature Salary History and Advances History are very useful in tracking the history of the user from the time his/her information is entered into the application.
